Welcome - I’m Dr. Marcie!

I redesign behavior with realistic ideas for your real life.

I am a speaker, author, behavior specialist, and change motivator. In my work I meet people where they are. Some people see me as a drill sergeant, others as a wise entertainer. I offer a range of services that facilitate transformation for people who want help changing their behavior.

My #1 bestselling book Love Your Classroom Again was called "the quintessential guide for both the teacher and parent on how to teach positive behaviors." You'll find other helpful strategies on my blog, in my NY Parenting column, or in my appearances as a guest expert on NBC and other major networks.

My specialty is, in short, behavior. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctorate (BCBA) level; I have my Doctorate (along with 2 masters degrees) from Teachers College, Columbia University; and I am a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher as well as a New York State Certified Administrator. Along the way I also became a certified yoga teacher and a Licensed Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, completed Tony Robbins' Master University, and studied in cranio-sacral therapy. I am currently training to be an International Coach Federation certified coach.

I can help you because I have broad academic background in behavior combined with a plethora experience transforming behavior, having worked with thousands of families in NYC. I have metamorphosed my training to create a unique approach that you probably haven’t see before. I often get feedback to the tune of “I’ve tried everything and was only able to change with your insight.”

I am direct and clear — a straight shooter. I am constantly pushing myself to improve and learn; how can I ask you to do that if I have not done the same? My voice, approach, and manner cut through the noise that is holding you back. Does that style resonate with you? If yes, then you are in the right place!

Do you feel alone in your challenges? I’ve been there! I grew up in New Jersey with an older sister (two years, two months and 20 days older to be exact) and my parents. In first grade I started frequenting the resource room and had weekly sessions there for four years. My school and parents supported me so I never felt a stigma for having to go. I faced another challenge in second grade, when unexpected illness caused me to miss more school days than I could attend. This downward spiral turned around in third grade when I was placed in the gifted and talented program. I baffled my teachers with my challenges and my strengths as I shuttled between my advanced classes and the resource room.

Throughout my journey I knew I wanted to work with children — they’re so honest! In college I started using ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) in my work with children. For the next 10 years I continued to provide behavior services to kids with special needs.

Within this work I began to realize that the best results occurred when I included parents and teachers, rather than just working with children exclusively. My little clients have seen tremendous growth when I also train their parents, teachers, and educators on how to best support them. What is continually apparent: as we adults change, so do our children.

After my first 15 years working with behavior, I recognized that behavioral dynamics certainly impact success in business, marriages, and elsewhere in life, so I began using these skills to motivate behavior change for people who want to live a happier, more fulfilling life.

What I can do for you!

I am a speaker and trainer! I work with groups big and small and in all shapes and sizes. I love to watch people’s faces light up as they start to understand how behavior works. My intention is for every single person who attends to walk away feeling inspired, motivated, and ready to take immediate action! Click here to find out about how to work with me in-person.

I am an author! Check out my #1 bestselling book Love Your Classroom Again. I am a change motivator! My practice and programs will provide you with the skills necessary to make change happen. Behavior is like the internet: it dictates your world, but do you know how it actually works? Within a few sessions of my practice or programs you will understand behavior so that you can make dramatic changes in your life and the lives of those around you! This is what gets me excited and motivated to share my behavior knowledge: the fact that your life is just a few strategies away from being where you want it to be! You can rest assured that I’ve seen it all, so the door is open in my private practice and programs for the most extreme to the most mild behavior challenges. If I can’t help you one-to-one, I’ll let you know immediately.

Behavior change takes work; I help people do it every day. I also know that daily small steps lead to epic behavioral change.

Blue skies are ahead! Let’s get there together!
